Drake Bendigo, on behalf of our client is currently seeking a proactive professional to appoint to the role of Human Resource Manager. Our Client, A family owned business is one of the most recognised companies in its field. Located in Bendigo, regional Victoria the company has a well regarded reputation for quality products and is continuously improving with strong growth plans in place. The Successful applicant will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR and safety that includes but doesn’t limit too; - Keep up to date, interpret and advise managers on legal requirements relating to recruitment principles, selection, compensation, benefits, industrial relations, employee relations, equal opportunity and negotiation.
- Manage the negotiating Collective Agreements in conjunction with the CEO
- Coordinate the maintenance of personnel records to facilitate payroll, superannuation, and various human resource information system requirements
- Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.
- To utilise the knowledge of human behaviour and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, learning, motivation and of psychological research methods to influence culture change
- Ensure the recruitment procedures allow for all recruitment selections to be made in fair and open competition in accordance with statutory employment obligations
- Develop a Safety Management Plan with the aim to achieve a Zero Harm Culture
- Conduct counselling and disciplinary discussions where required
- Fulfil the role of the Return to Work Officer, focused on no lost time
- Review policies and practices to ensure they are up to date and to improve the efficiency of the Company
Key Competencies - Experience with the legal requirements, laws and government regulations associated with recruitment, industrial relations and employee relations.
- Mediation and conciliation experience.
- Sound organisational skills with the ability to set priorities and accomplish tasks within tight timelines.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Tertiary education in Business, Human Resource Management, Psychology or related field.
- Tertiary education in Occupational Health and Safety
